ODI Career

ODI Stats

He scored over 10,000 ODI runs. He selflessly kept the wickets for India. He topped the batting charts during the 1999 World Cup. He led India to three series victories in a row. Yet, he was called un-fit for limited-over cricket.

Dravid's growth in the One Day arena was not all that easy though. He was thought to be a player not cut-out for the limited overs version of the game. But through his dedication and hard-work, Dravid made a mark for himself, becoming a lynchpin in the Indian middle order in ODIs.

Though he does not play the big shots too often and follows a conservative approach, Dravid has finished his ODI career with more than satisfactory numbers. Being the seventh highest scorer in ODIs and the only player to feature in two 300+ partnerships is no mean feat. Apart from these, Dravid has kept wickets in 73 ODIs including a full World Cup - which speaks volumes about the selfless nature and the greatness of the man.

Off the 12 centuries that he has scored, he has ended up unbeaten five times. Dravid also has 55 scores of 50 or more in Indian victories.

Dravid is also the best person to stitch a partnership with, as Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly would attest - 'The Wall' has added in excess of 4000 runs in partnership with both of these players. And on the list of highest runs scored in partnership, Dravid features prominently along with Tendulkar and Ganguly.
